A bit of sad news to Amazon Fire TV users! If your streaming device belongs to the older models, you can no longer access the Netflix app anytime soon!
Netflix is improving its streaming standards and older model devices may not be able to keep up. This includes several Fire TV devices from Amazon that were launched more than 10 years ago. With the aim to enhance content quality and deliver excellent performance, Netflix will need your streaming devices to have the capacity and feature they require.

When will Netflix cease working with older Fire TV or Firestick media players? Affected users will not be able to stream on Netflix starting June 3, 2025. However, the giant streaming company also informed their subscribers ahead via email messages to help them prepare for the transition.

Is your Fire TV affected? According to Netflix, it will leave 1st generation Fire TV devices including the Fire TV Stick, the Fire TV and the Fire TV Stick with Alexa voice remote control. It may be due to fewer to none security updates, weaker specs and more.
So, what to do when you are one of the affected users? There is nothing you can do as a workaround for you to continue streaming Netflix on your Fire TV device. The best thing to do is upgrade your Fire TV to newer models.
