If you remember a tune but don’t know what it is, you can use TikTok to find it out! The social media network is bringing in its song recognition tool and it offers more than what you can expect.
Called Sound Search, TikTok will search the song for you. While it works similarly to Shazam and YouTube Music, it has its own advantage, so you are encouraged to stay on the platform and not have to open a different app.
Unlike Shazam but similar to YouTube Music, TikTok’s Sound Search can find the song for you simply by humming or singing it. However, unlike YouTube Music, TikTok’s new feature offers not just the song details but popular videos as well.
Let’s say a tune comes into mind. All you have to do is head over to TikTok and go to the search bar. Tap the Microphone icon and select Sound Search. Now, sing or hum the tune or sing a bit of the song lyrics. TikTok will then try to recognize the music.
Once it gathers the results, you will see popular videos using the song or its remix. If the song is not on popular videos, it will just show related generic results. Plus, you can also try to search popular TikTok sounds or memes.
As of now, TikTok is not releasing the feature worldwide but only to select regions and users.
