Try these troubleshooting methods to help you pinpoint the culprit and fix the rebooting loop error on your Firestick.

Power Cycle your Firestick & Network Devices

A quick user-initiated restart will refresh your Amazon Fire TV Stick and stop its processes. Power cycling your router will also restore your WiFi Internet network connection to a fresh start.

  • To power cycle your devices, turn off your Amazon Fire TV Stick.
  • Unplug it along with your router and mode.
  • Wait for at least 1 minute before plugging them back in and connecting to the Internet.
  • Turn on your Fire TV Stick and try again.

Use a Power Outlet as Power Source for your Fire TV Stick

If you are currently plugged into the USB port of your Smart TV, it may not provide enough power supply for your Fire TV Stick. You can plug your Fire TV Stick directly into a power outlet.

At the same time, remove any cable extension that you are using to connect your Fire TV Stick to your TV. You need to connect it directly to the outlet. If there are other cables plugged into your TV, which you may not need at the moment, remove them since they may interfere with the performance of your Firestick.

Note that you have to use the official accessories that come with Amazon Fire TV. Using unofficial tools may be the reason why your Fire TV Stick is constantly rebooting in a loop.

Delete App Cache on Fire TV

Is your Fire TV Stick rebooting when you open a certain app? It may be because of too much app cache data stored in your device. You can delete the cache specific to that particular app to free up some storage space for Firestick’s operating system to use.

  • Go to the Settings menu of your Fire TV Stick.
  • Navigate to Applications.
  • Click Manage Installed Applications.
  • Select the app where you want to delete the cache.
  • Click Clear Cache.

Disable HDMI CEC on your Fire TV Stick

  • Launch the Settings menu and go to Display & Audio.
  • Select HDMI CEC Device Control to turn it off.

Install Available Updates on your Fire TV Stick

It also helps if you install the latest updates on your Fire TV Stick to fix bugs and enhance software performance. This can be done if you can open the device and access the home screen. On your Settings page, navigate to My Fire TV. Go to About and click Check for Updates.

Reset your Fire TV Stick

If nothing works for you, try to reset your Fire TV Stick. However, you can only do this step if you are able to get in and launch the settings page on your device. Note that doing so will revert your Fire TV Stick to its default factory settings. It means that it will delete all customized settings and downloaded content. You will need to log in to your apps again.

  • If you want to reset your Fire TV Stick, go to the Settings menu.
  • Select My Fire TV.
  • Click Reset to Factory Defaults.
  • Select Reset.

If not one of the methods above helped you stop the reboot looping error, it could be a hardware problem and you might need to replace the device if under warranty or purchase a new one.
