How to Reset your Amazon Fire TV or Fire TV Stick Remote

So, why reset your Amazon Fire TV or Fire TV Stick remote control? If your remote control is not working or unresponsive, you need to perform a reset. You can also reset your remote if there are buttons that are not working. If you have a new remote to replace your old one, you can also reset it before you pair it to your streaming device.

Reset Amazon Fire TV Remote

  • On your Amazon Fire TV remote, press and hold the Home button.
  • Continue to hold the Home button while pressing the Menu button three times.
  • Release your hold on the Home button.
  • Press the Menu button nine times.
  • Now, remove the batteries.
  • Unplug your Fire TV Stick.
  • After a few minutes, insert the batteries back into your remote.
  • Plug your Fire TV Stick back into the power source.
  • Wait for the Fire TV Stick to boot. 
  • Once it is on the home screen, press and hold the Home button for about 40 seconds.
  • Release the Home button.
  • Wait for the process to complete.

Resetting Alexa Voice Remote 1st Generation

  • Unplug your Amazon Fire TV and wait for one minute. 
  • On your remote control, press and hold the Left button and the Menu button together for 12 seconds.
  • Release them and wait for 5 seconds.
  • Remove the batteries.
  • Plug your Fire TV back in and wait for it to boot.
  • Insert the batteries back into your remote.
  • Press the Home button.

How to Reset Alexa Voice Remote 2nd Generation

  • Unplug your Amazon Fire TV.
  • Press and hold the Menu button, Left button, and the Back button together for 15 seconds.
  • Release them and wait for 5 seconds.
  • Remove the batteries.
  • Plug your Fire TV back in and wait for it to boot.
  • When on the home screen, insert the batteries back to the remote.
  • Press the Home button.

How to Reset Voice Remote with Amazon Alexa

  • Unplug your Fire TV or Fire TV Stick.
  • Press and hold the Menu button, Left button, and the Back button for 10 seconds.
  • Release them and wait for 5 seconds.
  • Now, remove the batteries.
  • Plug your Fire TV or Fire TV Stick back in.
  • Insert the batteries back.
  • Press the Home button to complete the reset.

Resetting Amazon Voice Remote Lite

  • Press and hold the three buttons for 15 seconds: Menu button, Left button, and Back button.
  • Release them and wait for at least 5 seconds.
  • Remove the batteries from your remote control.
  • Plug back in your Fire TV Stick Lite device.
  • Wait for at least 1 minute.
  • Insert the batteries back into your remote.
  • Press the Home button.
