Can’t seem to grasp everything said on a podcast episode? Want to chew on a few highlights or grab a good quote? It poses a challenge to absorb everything you want on an audio content, especially if a speaker is talking faster. But, what if there are transcripts on the episodes you are listening to?

Pocket Casts hears you! With the Generated Transcripts feature, you can see automatic transcripts on each episode. However, Pocket Casts notes that the transcripts will only appear on new episodes from most-followed podcasts. Yet, it is still a good improvement.
Once you have the feature enabled on your Pocket Casts app, you are able to select and copy texts from the transcript or search for words easily. Plus, arrows are available to help you jump from one mention to another. Unfortunately, there is no real-time highlight. You can still make use of timeline scrubber and playback controls.
But, here’s the catch: Pocket Casts offers its Generated Transcripts feature only to Plus and Patron subscribers. If you are using a free plan, you may need to upgrade your membership first.
How to Use the Tool and Automatically Generate Episode Transcripts on Pocket Casts App

How to start using Generated Transcripts on Pocket Casts? You need to update your app to version 7.85 on your Android or iOS device. Head over to the AppStore or Google Play Store and look for Pocket Casts. Install available updates and restart your device.
Now, launch your Pocket Casts app and play a new episode. Open the toolbar or overflow menu and tap the Transcripts or Message icon. Can’t find it? Try to customize your toolbar.
Lastly, transcripts are automatically available whenever episodes do not have their own transcripts. Enjoy listening – and reading – your favorite podcasts episodes!
