LG is making a huge change on its LG OLED TVs. But, whether or not these changes will bring in improvements is something we can look forward to in the future. For now, let’s focus on LG’s Google Assistant Service Termination notification on selected OLED smart TV devices.
Are you losing access to Google Assistant tool on your LG TV?

Many users received the message “Google Assistant Service Termination. Google Assistant will no longer be available on this device starting on May 1, 2025. The voice recognition service provided through the microphone button on the remote control will still be available for use.” Some of them are wondering what will happen now without Google Assistant.
With such an efficient feature, users are able to navigate through their smart TV with ease. Google Assistant helps them search for titles, work with the pause and play, control their TV with voice controls and more. Will these helpful functions continue after May 1, 2025?
The good news is that LG will retain its voice recognition service. You can still access Google services and apps on your TV.
All we have to do is wait for LG’s official announcement if indeed they are removing the voice assistant service on their streaming devices. On the side note, Google will be replacing Google Assistant with Gemini. It may be a possible reason why LG is terminating Google Assistant on their devices.
