A new streaming service is coming to continental Europe, and it is bringing some of the best titles that you can stream online today. Comcast and ViacomCBS are creating a joint venture company that will launch a brand-new name in the streaming arena to about 20 European markets called SkyShowtime. SkyShowtime is a subscription video on demand or SVOD that will feature streaming titles for various audiences including popular movies and TV series from the US and the UK.
Comcast, the parent company of Sky, and ViacomCBS, the company behind SHOWTIME, will have an equal investment and control over SkyShowtime. When launched, SkyShowtime will offer more than 10,000 hours of videos for all subscribers, similar to Paramount Plus.
Different genres and categories of content will be available for all audiences. Users can find and watch TV shows and movies for kids and families alike. There will be new episodes for recent seasons of known TV series and first-run movies each month for more exciting options. You can check out premiere titles, documentaries, classics, and even local programs when you subscribe to SkyShowtime.
SkyShowtime Streaming Service Subscription Cost, Availability, and Launch Date
If you want to try streaming on SkyShowtime, you can sign up and subscribe to its monthly plan. How much will they charge for this service? As of now the details of the subscription cost and price will be announced later when nearing the launch date. Though, there is no definite date for the launch of SkyShowtime set yet. Comcast and ViacomCBS are looking to commence streaming by 2022. Signing up for a free trial will be open by then.
SkyShowtime will be available in selected countries across Europe. It will be open to subscribers in the following territories:
- Bosnia and Herzegovina
- Czech Republic
- North Macedonia
Other countries like Germany, Ireland, Italy, Switzerland, and the UK will be enjoying the Paramount Plus (+) streaming platform instead. The streaming service from ViacomCBS is finally coming to these European nations and is also said to launch by 2022.
