There are some basic troubleshooting ways on how you can fix the error on your Amazon Echo smart speaker. You can restart it or refresh your network connection. It may also be one of the reasons why your Alexa device cannot play any song or podcast.

But, if these methods above do not work, here are more solutions you can do.

Update your Amazon Echo Device

To install the latest software version of your Amazon Echo device, say “Check for software updates” to Alexa and install it if available.

Another way is to head over to the Settings menu. Go to Device Options. Select Check for software updates.

Launch the Settings menu and go to Music & Podcasts. Head over to Family Services or Services. Now, select your music service and remove the link. Lastly, try to re-link it.

Move your Amazon Echo Device to a Better Location

Sometimes, objects can interfere in the connection of your device. You may check if you currently placed your Echo near electronic devices, metal objects, microwaves and thick walls. If yes, move your Echo away from them.

Update your Music Service App

Maybe the problem is with the music service linked to your account. Make sure to keep your music service app software up to date to avoid future errors.

Update your Alexa App

Apart from your Echo device and music service app, updating the Alexa app may also help. Head over to the app store of your device and look for the Alexa app. Install the latest software version.

Test with a Different Music Streaming Service

Have you been using your default music service app or perhaps a new one? The problem may be with the service itself. Try switching to a different music service app and see if you can play a song.

It is convenient to listen to your favorite tunes on Amazon Echo. You can try each of the methods above one at a time to see if it helps you fix the issue.
