However, not a lot of people find success in streaming Spotify music via Roku Streambar. They end up with a frozen screen or unable to install or launch the app.

Troubleshooting Tips to Help Fix Issue If Spotify App is Not Launching or Opening on Roku Streambar Device

There can be various causes of the Spotify issue on your Roku Streambar. Even if you cannot identify the reason for the problem yet, trying these fixes can help clarify things for you when troubleshooting issues with your Roku device.

Tip #1 – Restart your Roku Streambar

A quick reboot might help refresh your connection and processes. Turn off your Roku device and unplug it for at least 30 seconds. Plug it back on and try adding Spotify again.

Tip #2 – Clear the Spotify App Cache

If you successfully installed the Spotify app but can’t seem to play anything, clearing the app cache can help. Navigate to the app settings and clear the cache before trying again.

Tip #3 – Make Sure you have the Latest Roku Streambar Software Version

Verify if you have installed the recent firmware update of your Roku sound bar device.

  • Go to Settings.
  • Head over to System.
  • Choose Software Update.
  • Select Check Now and install the latest update.
  • Restart your device once done.

Tip #4 – Check your Device Compatibility

There is one case where his Roku Streambar does not support his monitor. Verifying your device compatibility with Roku Streambar will avoid issues in the future.

Roku Streambar is compatible with Smart TV with HDMI ARC or Optical outputs. For HD TV, it is up to 1080p with up-scaling from 720p. For 4K UHD TVs, it should be up to 2160p at 60fps with up-scaling from 720p and 1080p. HDMI input must support HDCP 2.2. For 4K UHD HDR TVs, it must support HDR10 with HDMI input supporting HDCP 2.2.
