What you need to do is to pair two of your 2nd-gen HomePods to two HomePod mini or two 1st-gen HomePods. Make sure to connect your devices to the same WiFI network and are assigned to the same room.

To start, go to your Home app and tap a HomePod. Tap the settings menu or the gear icon. Select Create Stereo Pair and follow the instructions. Select your second HomePod. Confirm your choice and select if it will be the left or the right.

Take note that even if you create a stereo pair of your HomePods, only one will be able to act as speakerphone or respond to Siri.

Now that you have a HomePod stereo pair, it is time to connect it to your Apple TV 4K and enjoy a higher level of surround-sound experience.

First, make sure that your Apple TV 4K is running on the latest software version. You must also assign your HomePods to the same room assigned to your Apple TV device.

Turn on your Apple TV 4K and Apple will prompt you to connect using your HomePods as speakers. Click Use as TV Speakers. It will automatically connect your HomePods to your TV. However, if you don’t see the prompt, you can set it up manually.

Go to the Settings menu of your Apple TV 4K. Head over to Video and Audio. Select Audio Output and choose your HomePods stereo pair.

Tips to Create an Immersive Sound Using Apple HomePods Stereo Pair and Apple 4K TV

Improve your experience with your new theater setup by placing your devices in a more efficient position. Place your HomePods speaker within 10 inches or 25 centimeters of a wall. Try to put them about 4 feet or 1.2 meters apart from each other but close to the center of your TV and on either side. You can also position them at a head level of your viewing spot.

Another tip is to enable the Enhance Dialogue on your Apple TV 4K via the Video and Audio settings.

Wrapping Up!

Create a more improved audio quality on your Apple TV 4K using your HomePods speaker and enjoy streaming every time!
