There is so much to look forward to this year on iOS devices as Apple announced new and enhanced features during the World Wide Developer Conference (WWDC) 2024. While there is a lot to check out with all Apple products, something exciting will be coming soon on Apple TV and Apple TV+.
The giant tech company is bringing in features that will enhance your viewing experience on its TV and streaming platform. Introducing the Apple InSight.
What is Apple InSight Feature and How Does it Work on Apple TV Plus?

If you want to expand your knowledge on the various facets that make up a movie or TV show, Apple InSight will give you, basically, the insights. The new function will provide you with current information about the actors of the show, the characters and even the music. This is similar to Amazon’s X-ray feature now present on Fire TV devices.
Just by tapping or swiping down on your Siri remote, you will get the biographies and trivia on the characters in the scene or the actors playing them. Want to check out each actor? Just select anyone you want to pull up their data.
Plus, you can also receive some details of the song or music in the background. InSight will identify the music, similar to how Shazam works, and show you the title of the song. You can even add it to your Apple Music library in an instant.
What’s more, you can also view Insight on any connected iPhone. This gives you more options if you don’t want any clutter on your TV. There is only one catch. You can only use InSight on Apple TV Plus and not on other streaming platforms.
Wrapping It Up
Apple InSight is part of the tvOS 18 version for Apple TV. Aside from InSight, Apple also announced several features for the tVOS update. Users are able to enjoy smart, context-sensitive subtitles that appear if you skip back or replay and mute the volume. Subtitles will also appear if a different language is currently spoken by the characters.
In addition, Apple will also enhance its audio settings, extending them to other devices. There is also the Enhance Dialogue feature that separates the dialogue from the background noise for better audio. Plus, support for 21:9 projections and new screen savers are coming your way.
There is no definite release date of the tvOS 18 but we can expect it later this year.
