There are a few reasons why the Funimation app might crash, buffer, freeze, or otherwise not work on your Sony PlayStation 4 (PS4) or PlayStation 5 (PS5) gaming console. The first and most common reason is that there’s a problem with your internet connection. If you want to use the app again, first make sure you have a solid connection.

If your internet connection is good, then the next most likely reason for the app not working is that there’s an issue with the Funimation servers. This isn’t something you can fix on your end, but you can try contacting Funimation customer support to see if they can help resolve the issue.

Finally, it’s possible that the Funimation app itself is buggy or out of date. If this is the case, try uninstalling and reinstalling the app. Sometimes this can fix software issues.

  1. This has been going on for as long as PS5 has been out, at least. NONE of these solutions work, and if it’s the Funimation servers, they don’t give a damn, because they aren’t fixing the problem. Literally, every 5 minutes, I have to exit what I’m watching and go back in. That’s the only way to bypass the buffering.
