How to Fix Hulu App Keeps Crashing or Not Working on Samsung Smart TV

Are you using a Samsung smart TV device to stream on Hulu? A lot of users encountered a problem when they launch the Hulu app on Samsung TVs. According to some users, the streaming app keeps on crashing, won’t load, unable to start or simply not working at all. If you experience the same problem, there may be factors that contribute to the issue. It can be an error with the Hulu app itself or a problem with your WiFi Internet network connection.

In most cases, the first thing you can do is to restart the Hulu app on your TV. A quick reboot will help refresh the app processes and let you stream properly. To restart your Hulu app, exit the program and wait for a few moments. Try to relaunch the app to check if it works.

If the problem is with your wireless home network connection, you can check your current Internet speed. You need at least 3 Mbps to stream movies and TV shows from the Hulu library and at least 8 Mbps if you want to watch Hulu with Live TV. If your WiFi Internet signal is weak, it can be the cause that triggers the Hulu app not to work on Samsung smart TV.

Wait for at least 1 minute before plugging in all connecting devices. After connecting to the Internet, try relaunching your Hulu app.

You may also try to improve your network connection by elevating your router or removing any obstruction that may block the signal. You can also bypass the router and connect directly to the modem.

  1. I tried all of these suggestions, but Hulu is still not working properly. I am unable to select programs 80% of the time. Nothing happens when I press the enter button on my remote. I’ve spent hours on the phone with Samsung, no help, and significant time on the phone with Hulu, without results. Each blames the other. Seems that I have to either change from Hulu to another app or return my Samsung Series 7 TV that is only 8 days old. This problem has persisted for 4 days, meaning since the 4th day we’ve owned this television. All of the self-help resources are nothing but wastes of time.

  2. Have a UN24H4500 and the app won’t load – just crashes after 5 minutes “Loading…” The day before it worked just fine. Called Hulu and after confirming that had good Internet, WiFi, powered cycled (hot & cold), and reset Smart Hub they said they are having issues with some Samsung TVs. Crossing my fingers they debug the issue.

  3. I’ve had this issue for two years on our Samsung TV. Hulu Live crashes every single time – ALWAYS after two hours, give or take 15 minutes. I’ve tried each of these solutions, ie clearing the cache, updating firmware etc. I have a strong wifi signal. As a test, I also installed a wifi extender that’s literally 10 feet from the TV. No other brand TV in the house has this issue. This is a Samsung issue that’s existed for several years. We will not be buying another Samsung product.
