The Paramount Plus app is one of the best channels for new TV shows and popular video content online today. With TV shows and series titles like Halo available, it is giving streaming giants like Netflix and Disney Plus a run for their money.
Even considering the large catalog of titles available on this streaming service, there are still some things that are not quite right with it occasionally. For example, it might not stream live TV shows with content such as sports or news onto your Samsung or LG smart TV, even when you’ve seemingly followed all the right steps.

How to Troubleshoot & Fix Paramount+ App Not Streaming Live TV Content on Samsung, LG & Other Smart TVs
Sometimes, certain smart TV brands are unable to stream Live TV shows and can’t watch TV series titles from Paramount Plus. This streaming issue might stem from the smart TV provider such as Samsung or LG, or from Paramount+ themselves. These solutions involve restarting certain things or resetting certain parts of each respective application.
Restart your Smart TV Device
For Samsung, LG or other smart TV brand users, here’s what you need to do:
- Close the Paramount+ app on your device and turn off your TV by pressing and holding your Power button
- Unplug your TV from its power source and wait for at least 30 seconds
- Reconnect your Power Source and turn on your TV again
- Re-launch the Paramount+ app and see if it is able to work
If your Paramount+ app is working again fine, try streaming Live TV content and a few titles to see if it will play. If it does, good for you. If not, move on to our other solutions below.
Check to See if Paramount+ Service is Currently Online
Sometimes, the Paramount Plus app may be experiencing service downtimes without your knowledge. In such situations, its best to find out for yourself if the Paramount+ servers are up and running or currently down.
- Open your browser
- Go to your search bar and search for “Is Paramount+ down?” or click on this link
- If the website is currently reporting that Paramount Plus is down, you’ll need to wait till the downtime is resolved
The Paramount Plus servers usually don’t go down often, so this problem will be infrequent. Sometimes though, streaming service downtimes can take a whole night to be resolved, so you should follow their social media pages to stay up to date with any new developments.
Check your Internet Network Connection
Live TV Content on Paramount Plus is one of the main appeals of the service, but streaming Live TV shows also comes with internet demands that are a fair bit higher than the conventional streaming experience. That’s why you should verify your speeds before using Paramount Plus on your TV at home.
- Go to www.speedtest.net using your smart TV
- Click on the giant GO button to run the test
- Save your results
The connection bandwidth on your smart TV might be throttled, so it’s important to go to your Network settings to ensure that there is nothing limiting its speeds. If the results are higher than 4 Mbps, ideally 5 Mbps for live streaming content, you should be fine. Otherwise, this could be the root cause of your live TV streaming issue with Paramount+.
The Live TV content on Paramount Plus is truly amazing, so you should make an effort to ensure that the app is running well on your smart TV device. If these fixes don’t seem to work things out for you, it wouldn’t hurt to contact the Paramount Plus support team for help.
