With news of price hikes from various streaming services, it is no wonder Crunchyroll will also make an announcement of its own. The anime-streaming subscription service will now increase two of its subscription plans per month.
However, users should not be dismayed as the increase in prices also comes with additional benefits. Crunchyroll will expand its content to at least 1,400 TV series and films with over 45,000 episodes. Plus, there will be added services in games and music. Crunchyroll also launched the Multiple Profiles feature and the Crunchyroll Store in Europe.
So, what’s changing in Crunchyroll and what’s being retained? Sony announced that it will only increase the Mega Fan and Ultimate Fan premium membership tiers on Crunchyroll, retaining the same price for the Fan Tier. While it may not be great news to anime-lovers with the two subscription plans, Sony indicates that such a move hasn’t been done in five years or since 2019.
Here’s the list of new Crunchyroll Premium Subscription Tiers Prices Starting 2024
- Fan Tier (Basic) – $7.99 / month
- Mega Fan Tier – from $9.99 / month to $11.99 / month
- Ultimate Fan Tier – from $14.99 / month to $15.99 / month
Price changes are applicable only in Argentina, Colombia, France, Portugal, the United States, and “select additional countries.”
Another change in Crunchyroll is the free-trial period, reducing the number of days from 14 days or 2 weeks to 7 days or 1 week. However, users who signed up with the ad-supported accounts can still enjoy the access for free but only to limited titles and without offline streaming or simulcasts.
