One way to check the error with the 5.1 Dolby Audio is through the Stats for news window. Make sure you see the AC-3/EAC-3 in the Codecs section.

  • Launch the YouTube TV app on your device.
  • Play any video with 5.1 Dolby audio.
  • Navigate to the Player Controls.
  • Choose More.
  • Click the bug.
  • You will then see the Stats for news on top of the video.
  • Check the Codecs section.

Google announced that it is still working on bringing the 5.1 Dolby audio to other devices like Amazon Fire TV, PlayStation, Xbox, Apple TV, and other gaming consoles.
