How to Change (Increase/Decrease) Plex Video Playback Speed

Use this new convenient in-built tool to control the speed of your videos.

Watching videos may not always offer us the convenience we are looking for especially if the speaker is speaking too fast or if scenes are like a glimpse. Making them slower or perhaps faster, if necessary, can definitely add convenience.

Several video streaming platforms such as YouTube already offer playback speed controls to manipulate how the speed of each video should appear while watching. To take on the same advantage, Plex is also bringing the same feature on its platform.

Video playback speed controls enable you to change the playback speed as you watch any content on Plex. You can edit the speed to 0.5x, 0.75x, normal speed, 1.25x, 1.5x, 1.75x, and 2x, depending on how you want it. 0.5x and 0.75x makes things slower while 1.25x, 1.5x, 1.75x, and 2x levels offer a faster option.

What’s great about Plex speed control is its constant appearance when you play on queue. If you try to stream videos on a watch queue, whatever changes you made on the playback speed will also apply on the consequent videos. That means, you don’t have to change the speed everytime the next episode or movie plays.
