How to Fix Sling TV App Video Playback Issue Error Code 21-20 & 24-1

If you love to watch live sports and TV shows, Sling TV is an excellent option to consider. You can access TV channels on Sling TV at a cheaper cost compared to cable services. However, it becomes frustrating when you try to stream your favorite shows, and a black screen appears.

Many users encounter the video playback issue on Sling TV with error code 21-20 and 24-1. These errors sometimes show the message, “not available, try watching something else.” Other times, you will only see a black screen.

In some cases still, users will see an orange wheel continually spinning on the screen. The show you are trying to watch ends up freezing and buffering. After several minutes, Sling TV is no longer loading.

Reasons for the Sling TV App Playback Errors 21-20 and 24-1

There may be several causes of the errors on your Sling TV. One reason is a temporary glitch in the Sling TV server itself. As it happens, there are moments when problems occur on the Sling servers and there is nothing you can do about it but wait until they resolve the issue.

Another cause for the error is due to your own WiFi Internet connection. At times, you may encounter an issue in the system caused by error in account authorization. Fortunately, there are also ways to fix these problems on your Sling TV streaming app.

Fixes for Sling TV Error Code 21-20 or 24-1

As indicated above, waiting can be your only solution when you encounter the playback issue on Sling TV due to server issues. No matter what you do, if the problem is on their end, Sling will be the one to fix the error. But, you can also try other methods that will aid in resolving the issue.

Restart your Sling TV App

If you see the error codes 21-20 and 24-1, a quick solution is to restart your Sling TV app. Exit the app and wait for a few seconds. Then, try to relaunch it and open a channel. You may also want to restart your device. After exiting the Sling TV app, turn off your device. Wait for a few minutes before turning it back on. Launch Sling TV app and open a channel.

Power Cycle your Network Device

It is also possible that the issue comes from your network connection. You may want to power cycle your devices by unplugging your router and modem. After at least 1 minute, you can plug them back in and connect your device. Doing this method will help refresh your Internet connection.

Reinstall the Sling TV App

Install a fresh version of your Sling TV app. Reinstalling the streaming app will also give you the latest version with all the added features and security upgrades. Doing so will also delete any corrupted files or bugs that may be causing the problem.
