Fix “We’re Having Trouble Playing this Title Right Now” Error on Netflix

There are hundreds of TV series and movies that you can stream on Netflix. Different genres and categories are also available to give you better selections. However, receiving an error message such as, “We’re having trouble playing this title right now.” can be frustrating. You may be looking forward to watching a movie or that episode you’ve been waiting for, but instead are blocked by a streaming error.

The error message “We’re having trouble playing this title right now. Please try again or select a different title” or sometimes is says “We’re having trouble accessing these titles for you right now” may point to an issue with your network connection. In some cases, there is a problem with the title that you want to watch. Fortunately, you can try to troubleshoot the error and go back to your binge-watching.

How to Resolve “We’re having trouble playing this title right now” Error when Streaming Content on Netflix

There are different ways you can troubleshoot and fix the content error on the Netflix app. You can follow each method below one at a time and check if the streaming issue still appears or not.

Do a Power Cycle on your Devices

You can do a quick restart on your device and see if it fixes the error or not. But, it also helps if you power cycle your device and reboot your router and modem.

  • First, turn off your streaming device and unplug it if necessary.
  • Unplug your router and modem.
  • Wait for at least 3 minutes.
  • Now, plug all your devices back in and wait to connect to the Internet.
  • Turn on your streaming device and relaunch Netflix.

Sign Out and Sign In for Netflix

  • Launch the Settings or Get Help menu.
  • Select Sign Out.
  • Now, Sign back in to your Netflix account.

Play the Same Title on Other Devices

If you are using your smart TV to stream on Netflix, try loading the same title on your computer. If it works, the issue may be with your Netflix connectivity on your smart TV.

Another way is to play other titles on Netflix. If they work, you can click the Report a Problem option on the problematic title for Netflix to fix the error.

Re-Download the Same Title

If you download the problematic title for offline viewing, you can remove it from the Download section. Go to the Download section and select the pencil icon next to the title. Select the X icon to delete it. Now, re-download it and try again.

Reinstall the Netflix App

You will need to uninstall the Netflix app on your device. Next, go to the Store section of your streaming device and reinstall Netflix.
