Creating an Apple Music Profile on a Smartphone (Android and iOS)

First, you’ll need to download the Apple Music app from the App Store on iPhone or Google Play Store on your Android mobile phone. Once installed, open it and follow the steps below:

  1. Open the Apple Music app
  2. Tap the Listen Now selection
  3. At the top-right corner of this window:
  • Tap on the three vertical dots or More option, tap on Account for Android users
  • On an iOS device, you simply need to tap on the photo icon in the top-right corner
  1. Now you can tap Set up Profile
  2. Follow the prompts as they appear to create your username, follow new artists, find your contacts and see what the platform has to offer
  3. Tap Done once it’s over

To create your profile on a Mac computer, you need to follow a few simple steps. By default, the Apple Music app is available, so there’s no need to open the app store.

  1. Open the Music app and click on the tab that says Listen Now from the sidebar

Hiding the Music that you’re Listening to

To avoid any unwanted eyes on your music collection, here’s what to do. 

  • Go to a playlist or album, then tap on Hide from Profile to avoid visibility in your collection.

To hide all your music, do the following:

  • Go to the profile tab and tap on Edit
  1. Scroll down to the bottom and turn off Listening To if you’re on iOS
  2. On Android, tap Additional Privacy Settings and turn off Listening To
