If you are a Disney fanatic, you will find Disney+ an exciting way to stream your favorite TV shows. There are popular movie titles from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and 20th Century Studios. However, some users may not have a continuous stream on Disney Plus if they see error codes on their smart TV or mobile device screens.
Not all content on Disney Plus is available to all users. Depending on their location, some users may not be able to stream the TV shows or movies at any time they want. There are geographic restrictions for some content and issues with restricted titles in selected regions and countries.
If the content is not available, you will see several Disney+ error codes. Some of these codes are error code 101, 22, 28, and 11. You will see one of these error messages pop up on your screen:
“We could not complete your request at this time. The particular title may be restricted. Please try again. If you think you are seeing this message in error, visit the Disney+ Help Centre (Error Code 22).”
“We’re sorry, but we cannot play the video you requested. Please try again. If the problem persists, visit the Disney+ Help Center (Error Code 28).”
“We’re sorry, this video is not available in your region. If you think you are seeing this message in error, visit the Disney+ Help Center (Error Code 11).”
But, it does not mean you can no longer stream and watch these titles on your device. There are instances when you can troubleshoot the error and fix the issue causing it so you can show the content you want to watch. It may not always apply to all situations. However, it helps to try these fixes out if you are eager to binge now.
How to Troubleshoot & Fix Disney Plus (+) Error Codes 101, 22, 28 & 11 with Issues Relating to Content Availability
You can find several solutions below that will help you resolve the playback error codes on your Disney+ streaming account. Try to follow the methods one at a time and see if it works for you.
Check if You are Using the Kids Mode
Disney+ blocks content that is not appropriate under Kids Mode. You may overlook the user account profile where you are streaming on Disney+. Check the streaming profile you are using. If it has kids mode, it may be the reason you cannot play the video. You can switch to a different profile or turn off Kids Mode.
- To turn off Kids Profile, click your profile.
- Select Edit Profiles.
- Choose the Kids Profile.
- Look for the Kids-Proof Exit and toggle it to Off.
- Enter your password.
Verify if the Content is Available to your Country or Region
While there may be restrictions as to the availability of content in certain countries or regions, there are times when Disney Plus expands this access depending on the laws of the country. You can check if the title you want to stream is available in your country or not. If not, you can wait for Disney+ to make it available later on.
Use a VPN Server to Access Disney+
Do you have a VPN service on your device? You can use it to stream on Disney+ to bypass geo-restrictions on selected content. Make sure to connect to a VPN server that does not restrict the video you want to watch. There are free versions but if you are dead serious in your streaming, we recommend these premium VPN service providers:
Upgrade your Disney Plus Subscription Plan
Disney+ has two membership plans available, the ad-supported plan and the ad-free subscription. If you want to expand your content library of movies and TV series, you can choose to add more streaming services to your membership. You can opt for the Disney Plus Bundle, which adds both Hulu and ESPN Plus to your library.
If the movie content or TV show episode you want to stream is available only on Hulu or ESPN Plus, you can upgrade your Disney+ subscription to the bundle plan.
